Agullent

Agullent has an important textile tradition and during the last decades it has suffered a notable industrial and economic development.

Here you can buy different types of products, such as textile products, paraffin and wax. On the other hand, Agullent is also known because its inhabitants made (by traditional methods) the balls used in the typical game called “pelota valenciana”. This tradition passes from one generation to the next. The balls made in this town have outstanding qualities, such as size, weight and texture, which have given them recognition among players.

One of the balls made in Agullent is called “Bandana”. This ball has rubber inside and is covered with wool. Then, it is rounded off until it has the right weight (around 42 grams). Finally, it is covered with goat skin. Another type of balls made in this town are used to play Fronton. These are balls of rubber, or “toc” or “tec” balls (because of the noise they emit when hitting the wall). The main difference between both is in the inside, as the first ball is made with rubber and the second one (“toc” or “tec”) is made with wood. The rest of the making process is the same as with the ball called “Bandana”. For more information about the elaboration of these balls call this telephone number: 0034 962907610.
