Local Natural Spot “Surar de Pinet - Llutxent”

This small enclave, located between the towns of Pinet and Llutxent, is the botanical peculiarity which characterizes the region.

On the one hand, the presence of a small colony of cork oaks (Quercus suber) gives a particular character to this space. Moreover, this colony, together with different plant species, forms interesting associations of forest progression-decline, such as the maritime pine (Pinus pinaster). On the other hand, there are also several thickets and shrubs, and it is worth mentioning the only native palm tree to Europe: the palmetto (Chamaerops humilis). Finally, the existence of oak trees from Valencia (Quercus faginea) in a nearby ravine completes, without doubt, the enormous beauty of this space.
