This cellar has partially been excavated on the rock.
The Town Council of Bocairent has acquired the snow well and has equipped it in order to be visited. It has access from a drainage tunnel, and once we are inside the cellar, we can feel the cool of the place, what indicates the purpose of this site. The heart of the well, which is around 12 metres deep, was totally covered with snow in the past. Before being transported, this snow was stored among layers of straw for a better preserving. There is a series of exhibition panels which explain in detail all the process about the snow, and what they did with it.
